The first part of this term we studied a bit of Henri Matisse. We really enjoyed his enthusiasm for color. Now we are studying O'Keeffe. But I miss Matisse.
Personal projects imitating Matisse's love for color.
Lisa, forgive me if I've shared this before, but in case I haven't...
I think that you are doing an amazing thing in the way you school your children. They are growing up with an appreciation for art and life that it seems is missing for many children these days. I love to read the stories about how they use their imaginations and how they love growing and cooking and painting. It's just marvelous! You are raising beautiful children with beautiful minds, hearts, and spirits. Keep up the great work and may all your efforts be blessed and multiplied!
It is amazing that at their young age, your children even know who those artists are...much less their style and how to imitate it. Fantastic!
I didn't learn much about art until much later in life...probably not until I married a man whose father was a professional artist. Then it was time for a crash course in Art 101! :)
