Life Skills : : Scrambled Eggs

Ask Joshua what his favorite foods are and he will tell you, "Scrambled eggs and mashed potatoes." In that order.

He has been helping with breakfast making since he was able to crack an egg. Three years ago we had some construction workers at our home and Joshua, then almost 5, had finished breakfast for me while I went and answered some questions. When we came back into the kitchen one of the workers was amazed that Joshua had made the "Egg in the Baskets" all by himself. Really amazed!

So now Joshua wants to learn to make scrambled eggs from beginning - turning on the cooktop - to the end - cleaning up (I added that part!) all by himself.

Here is his first day at making his delicious scrambled eggs - all by himself.

Look at the yummy color of those organic, free-range eggs. They are as delicious as they look.

He is cooking on a pan that he got for a Christmas present from his Grandma Revé last year. What kid gets his own big ol' pan (titanium - at that!) for a Christmas gift? One that loves scrambled eggs and from the grandma that loves to supply him his eggs.

This is one proud and hungry boy. Bon Appétit!

Yummy, I love scrambled eggs. Ever since our dog killed all our chickens we've been eating store bought eggs. I miss our organic free range ones. There really is a difference!

Great Job, Joshua! Scrambled eggs were one of the first things I learned to cook as well. They sure look delicious in the picture! I hope they tasted just as good!!
