Sewing Lessons

The cousins came out for the day to play and celebrate the end of the homeschool year. My sister and I also celebrated by being crafty. Often - way too often - we spend our time together doing school related stuff. So today was a designated craft day.

We pulled out an old pattern and some fabric scraps and made the youngest of the bunch a couple pairs of pajamas. Using some inexpensive cotton t-shirts we were able to make each pair for less than $3.00. What a deal! My sister has been wanting to learn how to sew and today was the day for sewing lessons. We went step by step and she did it! Now she has a pattern to practice with and a willing little guy to practice for.

It was a perfect day: tents, brownies, tea parties, golf around the house, brownies, sewing, park, tag, and did I mention brownies? They were a hit.

Ten hours of cousins. . . what could be better than that!?
