Bless

The oldest boy cousin turned 13 this year. We honored him on Memorial Day by having a special birthday blessing. Aunties, Uncles, Grandma and Grandpa and his mom and dad all wrote him a letter and read it to him. They were letters of memories and blessings. Grandma and Grandpa made a scrapbook for him of his 13 years and saved a space for the letters in the back. After the letters and gifts we had a time of laying on of hands, prayers and more blessings.

Happy Birthday, Trevor.

My heart is stirred by a noble theme
as I recite my verses for the king;
my tongue is the pen of a skillful writer.

You are the most excellent of men
and your lips have been anointed with grace,
since God has blessed you forever.

Gird your sword upon your side, O mighty one;
clothe yourself with splendor and majesty.

~ Psalm 45:1-3

What a special time! Will that be done for all the children when they turn 13?

I just might have to adopt that idea. :)
