Brown Thrasher

I was so excited to see the Brown Thrasher this morning -busily looking for food under the Spring snow. He was too busy and too camouflaged yesterday to get a photo. But against the white snow he is easier to see.

I knew I'd find something good about all this snow today. :)

I will sing to the LORD,
for he has been good to me.
~Psalm 13:6

Your positive attitude is impressive! I think I'd be a little discouraged if we had snow again now. :)

I've been reading a book recently that reminds me of you and your birding. Have you heard of "Scratching the Woodchuck" by David Kline? He's an Amish farmer who writes very well of his fascinating observations about nature. Anyway...for what it's worth... ;)

Oh my goodness you just identified the newest bird at our feeder!!! He's been here all day among the grackles and sparrows. We found the bird book but I didn't have the tiem to really sit and look through it.

At first I thought he was a fox sparrow but the bill was too short.

I wish I could wake the kids up and tell them I know what the bird is. *smile* That makes our bird count 19. Nineteen different birds we've seen just in the last month and 8 days of living here.
