Family Fudge Recipe

Every year we make fudge for Christmas. We start the day after Thanksgiving for our first family Christmas gathering the next day and in a few weeks we are making more.

Joshua is always a help in the kitchen and really got into smoothing the fudge.

This year we had to change the recipe a little bit. Caitlin and Joshua are both allergic to some tree nuts - almonds being one of them. So out with the almond extract and in with hazelnut extract. What a yummy difference!

Krengel Family Fudge*

3/4 c. butter
3 tbs. milk
1 14-oz. can sweetened condensed milk
1 (12-oz. pkg.) semi-sweet chocolate morsels
1 (11 1/2-oz. pkg.) milk chocolate morsels
1 (10-oz. pkg.) peanut butter morsels
1 (10-oz. pkg.) butterscotch morsels
1 (7-oz. jar) marshmallow crème
1 1/2 tsp. vanilla extract
1/2 - 1 tsp. hazelnut extract
1 lb. pecans, chopped

Melt butter in a large heavy dutch oven over low heat and stir
in both milks. Add all morsels, stirring constantly until
mixture is smooth. Remove from heat, stir in marshmallow creme
and flavorings. Stir in walnuts. Spoon into a buttered 15x10x1"
pan and spread evenly. Chill. Cut into squares. Store in frig.
Makes 5 lbs.

*Super, super easy but Not Feingold freindly

How sweet are your words to my taste,
sweeter than honey to my mouth!

You can tell he's serious about his fudge making...the tongue gives it away.

Thanks for sharing your recipe.
