Collecting Sap

Saturday was Maple Syrup Day at a relative's farm. It is the same farm we go to in the autumn for the Honey Harvest. Todd gave all the kids a demonstration of sap collecting.

Then the children grabbed a collecting bucket and ran for the trees. It was fun to observe them organize themselves in their group so all the jobs were covered.

They were very careful and focused. They tried not to let any drops land on the ground.

It was fun to see them be so excited and focused about collecting sap. Sometimes the collecting bucket was really heavy and they needed some grown up help.

One generation will commend your works to another; they will tell of your mighty acts.
- Psalm 145:4

Collecting sap sounds like great fun!! I was asking a friend about it the other day, wondering where we could do it.

I hear that we are practically neighbors. I live in the same town as Theresa, Grace Like Rain. I'd love to check out your co-op. I've been to the one in my county and found that my kids are younger than most.

Please come visit me at www.homeschoolblogger.com/littleeblingsacademy or email me at houseofe@means.net .
Thanks!!

Blessings, Beckie :o)

Sounds like it was lots of fun Lisa.

Hoping we get some warmer dryer weather for this next week.

Beckie,
Thanks for stopping by. We are practically neighbors - how fun is that!?

The co-op we have at our home is a monthly Moms' Meeting. Come to the April meeting and you can meet some of the ladies that do the big one with all the kids. We are usually gone or busy during the co-op meetings so haven't gone in a long while.

I'll stop by your blog soon.
Blessings!
Lisa

Theresa,

It WAS lots of fun. We read a lot about Maple Syrup during the week so the children were excited to take part AND feel so good about what they learned.

Praying for warmer weather - soon.
