While folding laundry the other day I came across a couple socks that needed darning . . . or tossing . . . or re-purposing. I brought a sock to Caitlin and asked if she wanted it for a craft. She wasn't too excited about the fact that it was black. I told her that bright colors really "pop" on a background of black. She considered that for a moment and silently held out her hand to take the sock.

After an hour or two of crafting and listening to a "Swiss Family Robinson" audio book she emerged with a big smile and a well dressed Katie. Using felt, embroidery floss and buttons she came up with a new dress and matching bag. Lucky doll!
She selects wool and flax
and works with eager hands.

That is great! What a creative use for a sock. I love the matching bag. :-) Tell her I said she did a fantastic job on them.
