Finished!

In the spring we added a fresh coat of paint to Caitlin's room and cleared (some) of the clutter. All summer her art and shelves were under her bed waiting for a day when we would take the time to put them back up. Since we changed her room around we wanted to wait a while to see if the arrangement would be just right. It is!

Creative girl that she is, Caitlin needs a display shelf for her every increasing art collection. The only problem is that she doesn't want to put anything away - just add to it. We need to work on that. She loves her desk. It was her daddy's desk when he was a boy. It is getting quite a bit wobbly but she loves it and creates at it for hours.

We had to put her shelf on its side because of the new arrangement. No problem - she has always wanted a window seat. Now she has one! I made a cushion and pillow for her and she loves it. We have an old shelf that my great-uncle made many, many years ago and gave it a new life holding Caitlin's audio books. It is so nice to have her things more organized.

A shelf to hold backpacks, sweaters and handmade bags that hold more stuff finally gets tucked away in the corner.

This shelf was my mom's shelf when she was a girl. There are two shelves (we called them shadow boxes) that spent years in my sister's and my room when we were young. Then my sister's daughter had them in her room. This year the girls decided they should each have one in their rooms. A great place for treasures.

By wisdom a house is built,
and through understanding it is established;

through knowledge its rooms are filled
with rare and beautiful treasures.
